Customized, Affordable Spaces for Non-Profits

Hawaii's non-profits work tirelessly to serve our communities. But finding affordable, functional space can be a major hurdle. Expensive construction, lengthy permitting, and zoning restrictions often stand in the way of progress. We specialize in transforming durable shipping containers into custom-built facilities tailored to your specific needs. From animal rescue shelters to mobile clinics and administrative offices, we create spaces that empower your mission.

Non-Profit Modified Container Case Study

Aloha Animal Sanctuary

Like many non-profits, Aloha Animal Sanctuary has special needs for specific purposes not easily met by traditional construction. In this case, they needed an on-site tiny home for their caretaker. We transformed a 20' foot container into a cozy, functional tiny home, creating a little sanctuary for the caretaker of the sanctuary. :) Located in Kaneohe, the sanctuary provides a safe haven for rescued animals, particularly those who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected, and to promote compassion for farmed animals through public engagement.

We're Committed to 5-Star Service

Read our customers' feedback:

Our experience from start to finish exceeded our expectations. Allison, Tara and her staff were attentive , professional and knowledgable. Great communication and attentive to the most minute detail. They customized our container to our specifications exactly. Thank you Allison and crew for a great experience in making our vision a reality!

This company is amazing. They are professional, efficient and truly care about the needs of the customer. They produce a high quality product and over deliver what is expected. They are also always available on the phone to provide service, their fees are fair for what you receive, and they work well with all the other contractors involved in your project. I highly recommend Allison Shipping Containers.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE! She returns phone calls, answers questions, and generally handles good business. She also accept credit cards for my purchase which is a god send when doing this for the first time! The delivery was perfect as well, all set up by her. I'd easily spend another 10k with her on my next property!

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

  • Our non-profit may need to move our container office in the future? How difficult will that be?

Our container offices are designed for easy relocation. Since they were originally designed for shipping, it makes it easy for them to be loaded onto a tractor trailer and moved to another location. They even have built in fork lift pockets!  This is a significant advantage for organizations like yours that require flexible and mobile office solutions. We can also assist with the logistics of moving the units.

  • We have specific needs for our mobile offices, including accessibility features, meeting spaces, and sometimes temporary housing. Can your containers be customized to meet these diverse requirements?

Yes, our shipping containers can be highly customized to meet a wide range of needs. We offer various modifications, including accessibility ramps and wider doorways, meeting rooms, and even temporary housing elements like sleeping quarters and bathroom facilities. We work closely with our clients to understand their unique requirements and deliver tailored solutions.

  • As a non-profit, we are very budget-conscious. Can you provide information on the cost-effectiveness of your container offices compared to traditional construction?

Container offices offer several cost advantages over traditional construction. First, they allow you to have a fully containerd, but relatively small square footage of functional space. That saves a huge percentage on project costs up front, by not requiring a larger building.

Other advantages include lower labor costs, reduced material expenses, and quicker setup times. Because the containers can be reused and relocated, they also offer long-term value. We can work with you to determine the most cost-effective solution for your specific needs and budget. We also offer options for both purchasing and leasing.

  • What is the life expectancy of a shipping container?

With proper maintenance, shipping container offices can last as long as traditional buildings, often 25 years or more. Their lifespan depends on factors like the container's original condition, modifications, and the environment. Regular care, including rust prevention and moisture control, is essential to maximize their longevity.
